안녕! It's been a while ~
We just finished the first 4 months of NSLI-Y Virtual Instruction, and one of my favorite parts was the Peer Project!
But Lia, what is this "Peer Project" you speak of?
I'm glad you asked, curious reader! Basically, our NSLI-Y chort was split up into groups of 2-3 students, who were then matched with a Peer Mentor, which was a student currently studying at a Korean University. I was paired up with 이채린 멘터님! A.K.A. The BEST MENTOR EVER. But shhhhhh... don't tell anyone ;)
Here's a picture of my cohort making 달건나 (Dalgona), which you may recognize from Squid Game:

Through Peer Project, we met up with our mentors once a week for about an hour to learn about Korean history and culture. We learned about Korean holidays, music, customs, and history. It was by far my favorite part of the week.
And 채린 씨 was so thoughtful. Since she only instructed us in Korean, she always explained hard words and was patient whenever we didn't understand the content of the lesson. She put so much work into her lessons, gave us feedback on our homework, and encouraged us to ask a lot of questions.
She even helped me outside of NSLI-Y with my KCCLA Korean Speech Contest Entry, which I am so so grateful for. She's a volunteer, and she went out of her way to make time to read my script, explain why certain pats were unnatural or confusing, and helped me revise it until perfection!
Seriously, a wonderful human being and mentor.

By the way, here's the video submisson for my speech if you're curious:
