Lianna and I both got Covid and had to be sent to a quarantine hotel AGAIN. Yikes.
While we were waiting to be sent to the hotel, our host parents took care of us from afar and we ate our meals for the day inside of our rooms.
(But, I wasn't alone: I had 송중기 to keep me company hehehe)
Fortunately, my symptoms weren't too bad: I was mostly just tired and had a pretty bad headache.

This is an example of a typical meal at my homestay, by the way. There's fried 고구마 (sweet potato), 밥 (rice), 야채전 (vegetable pancake), and 계란마리 (egg roll).
Personally, I LOVE the 고구마 and 야채전. They're sweet, yet salty, and just make me happy~
The quarantine hotel we stayed at was actually really nice! They gave us snacks, toiletries, and even coloring books!

^ Our room (cute, right?!)

Lianna and I played many games. took many naps, and had many random conversations while in quarantine.
I'm so grateful I had her there, it made the week feel more like a weekend-long sleep-over!
< Sunbathing in our room
We also had to catch up on all work we missed in our Korean class over quarantine, which, as you can imagine, was not super fun.
We only left the hotel once, which was to take an x-ray in a tent in the hotel parking lot. It was freezing and very strange.
More quarantine food:

< Yes THAT was breakfast. 😙👌
Honestly our breakfasts were always BOMB.
After 7 days, we were released! The following morning, we were off to school for our first day!
<-- I think I forgot to include us buying our uniforms, so I'll just casually slide this in here.
We tried on uniforms and bought them at a tiny uniform store next to the high school.
Once we got there, we were instructed to wait in the staff lounge. We waited there for what felt like FOREVER. Also teachers would come in and out so we just gave a little bow and an awkward, "안녕하세요" whenever one walked in.
Then, a teacher brought us to our classrooms. I'm in the Japanese class! I remember walking into the room and all of the students suddenly crowding around me. I felt like a celebrity; it was really fun!
I introduced myself in Korean, and all of the students were stoked at my (broken, but bearable) Korean. I had so much fun answering all of their questions and talking to them.
Korean high school is VERY different from high school in the U.S., but I think I'll have to save that for a separate post. Otherwise, we'd be here all day.

Linnea is in the French class, but she came by to say hi and we took a picture with our class motto: 괜찮아 (We're okay). I find it really comforting whenever I see that on the wall.

School lunch!
We had pork cutlet, soup with noodles, kimchi, bokkeumbap, a cereal donut, and a salad. It was so good, especially after a week of cold and repetitive quarantine food.
After lunch, the students took me to the student store where they sell snacks. They bought me so many Korean snacks! We then went outside to take more pictures.

After school, we went to our Korean University classes. Once we finished those, we went to our weekly dance class! Today we learned Dynamite by (our kings) BTS!
BONUS (for Lianna, my #1 fan <3)

^ No, your eyes do not perceive you. That is, indeed, a library book vending machine in the subway station.
